Travel List // Lebanon

These are the places I haven’t been to, in Lebanon that I hope to visit this summer. Thanks to Gogobot for helping me find these places. I’ve made a list just for them!

1. Sky Bar

2. Pigeon Rocks

Pegion Rocks, Along the sea, Beirut, Lebanon

3. Temple of Bacchus

I’ve been to Baalbeck, where the temple is, but I’ve never seen the temple itself. I may not be able to go this year, there area is a bit dangerous.filename-baalbek-45-jpg

4. René Moawad Garden

Now these are the places that I have been to, that I intend to return to this summer…

1. Jeita Grotto– Touristic Cave

Top 14 finalist as the New 7 Wonders of Nature.

2. Margherita, Jounieh- Restaurant

3. ABC Ashrafieh– Mall

4. Byblos Bay

This is a huge venue for concerts. The ones I have seen here are: Yanni, Lana Del Rey, One Republic, Gorillaz, and Snow Patrol. You can see the summer line up here. Looks like SIA will be preforming in August!

5. Zaitunay Bay

One of the newer places in Beirut. Zaitunay Bay is a walkway along a marina that has many restaurants. Similar to Byblos Bay, but with a modern edge.

6. Beirut Souks

An open shopping area full off designer stores, restaurants, library and cinema.

7. Harissa

This is where the statue of the Virgin Mary is. There is a church underneath her, and a large modern cathedral at her side. The base that she rests a top of was made by hand, finished by the end of the 19th century.

You’ll hopefully be seeing some of these places in my vlogs!

Beautiful places for all. That Sky Bar looks like a hopping place, I would go there and have a Coke and mingle. Wonder which mall would be for the everyman/woman the Souks or that ABC place? Souks looks like a great place to have one of my “mall days”. Thanks for sharing these.

Hey! Nice to hear from you again 🙂 I’m glad you liked it! Yeah the Beirut Souks have more high end brands. Whereas ABC has more restaurants and a more family vibe.
Sky bar is very well known. It’s first model apparently burnt down. There’s a rumor that it burned just so that there was an excuse to build a bigger and better one!

Glad to see a blog from you again as well. You know I used to think of Beirut like why the hell would I want to go there, its all torn up from war and is an overall dangerous place. I remember hearing about it all the time in the news as a little kid. That misconception has changed over the years and it looks so so beautiful there and modern and clean! And hey they have a Reebok at Beirut Souks, that sounds good to me! 😉 Haha. No but great, thanks for the insider tips there. Not surprised they would want to do something like that with the Sky bar. As long as they serve non-alcoholic drinks and the people wouldn’t look at me funny for sipping a lemonade that’s fine too haha.

Yeah the tension there has lead to many misconceptions. To my understanding Lebanon is the party capital of the Middle East 😉 I’m sure you’d be fine sipping a lemonade at the bar, hahaha no one would know it’s lemonade except for you!
They are trying to clean up a bit and renovate the torn buildings. But it takes time and patience, especially since there are many Syrian refugees there. Angelina Jolie recently went to visit the refugees in southern Lebanon.
